Honestly, I have been hesitant to buy any paper bag shorts this summer because I wasn’t sure they would look that great on me. Not sure what my reservation was, but I finally tried on a pair in person at H&M the other day and I was shocked at how flattering this style is on. Most are high waisted and the midsection is scrunched together– usually bound by belt or drawstring. What else could my postpartum body ask for? So, I wish I had given these a try earlier into summer, but thankfully I’ve got several more months to enjoy them since Alabama won’t feel fall temperatures til mid October.
I found these shorts weeks ago and couldn’t stop thinking about them. Should have pulled the trigger on them sooner because now they are low stock (sorry y’all! linked more options below). When I saw these in linen, I knew I wanted to curate a simple neutral style for summer. White and ivory/cream is one of my favorite color combinations. When it comes to every day style, I am always drawn to neutral styles, especially linen for summer. I was excited to pull this look together and the top was the perfect choice for a fitted look that let the paper bag shorts steal the show. Ps- don’t mind the medical tape on my arm, totally forgot to take that off after visiting the doctor today. Shep was fussy, so of course I forgot. Always something, ah!
