I can’t believe we’ve been in #ourcrepemyrtlequarters for almost 5 years now! Crazy. Each year we’ve done a little something to the house to improve it. We inherited a very structurally sound home with great bones, but aesthetically it needed a lot of work and updating. On a residents salary we’ve had to do this all very slowly and coordinate with my Dad’s busy schedule since he has done every project with us. So nice! He is like the original Chip Gaines and can literally do anything! Such a gift. We’ve learned a lot from him through all these DIY home projects.
This year, our 2020 home goal is to re do the small full bath that the older two children share. It was severely outdated and the hardware was falling apart, literally. We held on as long as we could and finally got things together to get this project going. I am so excited to share our design board for the small bathroom. I wanted to keep it classic, timeless, bright, fun, and flexible for any age use. This is also the bath that our guests use when they come over, so I wanted to keep this space nice for anyone to use. The bathroom reno has already begun and we are in the midst of it all now. We’ve ordered about 95% of the items now and just have a few small things left. Since things are pretty set I figured now was a good time to share the inspiration board with y’all.
I decided to mostly do white carrara marble, white subway tile, white wood paneling, antique gold/brass accents, with blue textiles. I love blue for girls and boys and personally think its a neutral color 😉 Trying to keep the style somewhat french inspired if possible. We aren’t 100% sett on the wallpaper, but I do love this stripe. I’m thinking this will be something we add at the very end or just down the line. We shall see!
