Sully’s Room Update

February 19, 2018

Since moving towards getting Sullivan’s room ready for his little boy room (that inspiration post is here), things have changed a good bit in his room. If you’ve been following along for awhile you know this room was the ‘shared nursery’ and has truly been through more changes in the last 2.5 years than any other room in our home. It went from Scarlett’s room, a shared room, to Sully’s room… with lots of furniture additions and configurations. Which is why I give myself grace with this room because it has changed a lot!

So early last fall we found a jenny lind twin bed that my mom and dad refinished and restored. We moved it into his room as soon as it was ready. I realized we hadn’t given much thought to the functionality of his room with the added bed, so the last 5 months it has just looked so out of place and odd. The shelving was laying down on the floor behind his twin bed and it finally got to me. Must be the spring weather putting me in a nesting sort of mode! We basically flip flopped his crib and his twin bed to different sides and then stood the shelving unit up and slid against the wall behind where is crib is now. I’d be embarrassed to show y’all a before photo! You can just use your imagination as to how silly it looked.

So, I had Joel help me re arrange some things and I am just kicking myself that we didn’t do this sooner. It looks SO much better now! I have never done a post revealing his room, so since it is finally looking cute I figured I’d snap some pictures while it was clean and pristine 😉 This is still very much a work in progress and I imagine lots of drape and furniture changes when we transition him fully to his little boy room maybe late this summer? Hoping to make it to 3 in that crib! His sister jumped out of hers at 18 months so we’ve been living on a prayer over here. All sources are linked below! Hope you enjoy his little room refresh update!

They also tilt over and fall– but, they work. They are in my sons room and the other shelving is in my daughters room. It is fine, I just prefer the first set more).

Hi! I have been eyeing this crib sheet for my sons nursery, is this sky? Also, was wondering if it’s brighter like their pictures of the whole crib or if it’s more muted like the close ups? Thanks so much!

hi amanda! yes, the is the sky colored sheet. I think it certain lighting it is brighter or more bold. My son has a lot of natural light in his room, so when the curtains are open it looks very bright. When it’s just artificial light in his room, it can look a little darker. It’s such a beautiful sheet 🙂
