Today, I was supposed to do a fun little project with another local blog friend, but the weather threw our plans out the window. It was going to be a cute Fourth of July tablescape- but, it’s okay because now we have something better in the works! It’s so funny, before we had kids I was so into table settings and in Joel and I’s tiny little apartment I always had our table made to perfection- plates, napkins, place mats, and the whole she-bang! Now, most of y’all moms know how impractical that is to even think of nowadays unless you are planning a gathering in your home- which we love to do often! So having friends over gives me a reason to go back in time and dream up a perfect place setting again! I took a quick trip to Home Goods today and picked up a few things and then compiled a few things that I already had to come up with a neutral summer themed table setting. Okay… is it table setting or tablescape? What should I be referring this to nowadays? Y’all help me! Anyways, I pulled this fun neutral look together for y’all for anyone wanting to refresh their table space. This look was inspired by our trip to Ojai, California. There were lavender blooms EVERYWHERE. I seriously was in heaven and smelled every bush I passed. Ojai is so dreamy, simple, natural, and give me a sense of calming. I’ve been putting touches of that place in our home since we’ve gotten back. Now, if only I could turn my backyard into a floral oasis with creeping vines, lavender, and live stock in my yard then we would be set! In my dreams 😉
I knew when I first saw that faux potted lavender that I had to have it! Lately, I’ve been a sucker for lavender. Funny enough lavender is oil is calming, and that’s exactly how I feel just when I look at it 😉 Do you have faux lavender in your home?
Fun fact: My Dad and husband made that shelf for our kitchen and I love it! Before we sold we moved our kitchen table there, a buffet cabinet used to be there and it went perfectly together. When we switched the table in, I was set on the shelf staying and making it work. I think it is fine and works well 🙂
We’ve had those goblet glasses since we were married and I LOVE them! We might have TOO many, haha, but they are so nice and dress up any normal dinner. This is my go to glass when we are hosting. Literally, you can put anything in there!
I hope y’all enjoyed a peek into our kitchen area. I am itching to get y’all the full reveal…basically the other side of the room that went under a complete renovation last year. My husband and Dad did the whole renovation themselves and did not outsource any of the work. They are AMAZING! Seriously love telling people how much hard work and love that went into re modeling the kitchen. It’s my summer goal to get everything styled and photographed for y’all, so stay tuned! Shouldn’t be much longer 😉 Y’all don’t forget to pin your favorites to your pinterest board! And follow me HERE if you aren’t already!
