Life Lately

February 13, 2017

I feel like every time there is quiet, something stirs up and I am instantly busy again. For instance, we got back in town last week and it was slow for about 5 days then things just picked up with Joel’s work, my photography, home improvement, kids schedules, and the list goes on and on. Right now, the thing that is keeping me most busy is figuring out our new living room set up. I had a moment a few weeks ago where I realized I am just trying to make old furniture from our previous home work in our new home and it’s just not working. We desperately need more storage in our living area and just need to utilize space better. Since we have no more serious renovations I know nothing will change in our living area. I am currently selling our gorgeous buffet cabinet and sweet little couch console table. It’s so hard to let go of these pieces because I fell in love with them. The truth is, I’ve been in denial about them working and we definitely DO NOT need a buffet cabinet just to house drink glasses and linens. I could really afford to use a place to throw candy land, hungry hippos, and the trillion dvds we have just lying out in plain sight. Not too mention, our sofa console table is 3 teeny drawers that house two baskets under them filled with toys. Wasted space yet AGAIN. Sure, it’s cute and pretty, but we live in a tiny house and I can realistically put those two baskets in any corner. I need things with cabinet doors and large drawers people! So that when I have guests over I can literally throw all of my children’s crap in one place!

I’ll be sharing the updates on instagram, just because that’s always the easiest, and then you can expect updated photos and God willing a reveal at some point. I’ll share one item that I purchased for our living room… this gorgeous french inspired mirror that will hang above our new console table! Y’all, I feel like I stole it. And Pier 1 seriously stepped up their game. I was shocked that I stumbled across this find! Isn’t it gorgeous?? Rumor has it that there is only 4 left online and about 17 left in US stores! So, if you want it. Run! I’ve always loved the french country look when it comes to decor, so I am really trying to pull that together while not having to replace every item in my living room. I already have my rugs (pictured above), and we are keeping our couch, so huge plus there! We do need to add 2 chairs, the new console, and I’ll probably freshen up the pillows and decor a little bit. Cannot wait to keep y’all posted on the progress! Please send over any ideas or tag me on instagram in a home you love 🙂

PS~ Don’t forget to enter the giveaway to win a $600 Nordstrom card! All info is in this post! Happy Valentines Eve!
