You wouldn’t believe me, but Joel has been itching to claim some sort of spotlight on my blog for the past five years of me doing this blogging thing. He is the first one to complain about having to take my photos, yet, when JORD Watches reaches out to me and asks if they can send my husband a watch, he filled out that form quicker than he could check football scores. I was asked about 3 times whether or not I sent in his form yet. I could have totally snagged a watch for myself, but he lost his a few years back, and we’ve just never been able to replace his. Plus, his birthday is in 3 weeks so I felt like it would be a disservice not to think of him first. Plus, maybe he would complain less when I ask him to photograph my outfits since he now knows how this styled shoot works and how much effort and time go into it. I can hope, right? Stick around, there is a fun giveaway at the end for your very own JORD Watch plus a discount code!
Joel is the typical instagram husband when it comes to photographing things for me- which let me tell you, is not that often these days thank goodness! Lately, I’ve been able to do some shots myself which is super nice! I hate bugging him. He works so hard during the week and weekends so when we are free we just really want to enjoy ourselves and the kids. However, when it came time for his closeup it was all, “Babe, are you going to take my picture or what? I am in my slacks and am having a good hair day!” Yep, he’s a funny one. Funny how the tables turn when it’s their turn to have a close up!
Today actually is our engagement anniversary! Six years ago this guy proposed in the middle of a lake on a cement pollen about as wide as one of my feet. We laugh now because he totally got down on one knee and could have fallen in that lake WITH my ring! After he said his words, I begged him to stand up easy. Crazy how six years ago we decided to take our lives to a whole new level of commitment. And, now next month we can say we have been ‘together’ for 10 years! Do y’all still celebrate the ‘together’ years? Typically that date just goes by and both of us usually forget, but 10 is a big one! We might have to make an excuse to get a babysitter and do a fun date night!
Joel’s watch can be found here. It is the Frankie watch in ebony. JORD Watches creates beautiful wood watches that are timeless and classic. There really are some beautiful styles on their site. He told me the other day that he gets complimented at work on his watch often. It is one of those unique men’s watches that really stands out. It’s very classic, yet has a bold demeanor that catches your eye. It really can be dressed up or down which is awesome! Joel goes from scrubs to slacks every other week, so he loves that this watch goes perfectly for any occasion.
Does your husband wear a watch daily? With Joel being in medicine, it is nice for him to have a watch handy. As an intern last year, I know he took vitals on a daily basis, so having a watch on him is really helpful. Let me know which one you liked from the website! I’d love to hear your thoughts!
