I cannot tell you how many times I get asked what kind of cup my daughter is drinking from and then how many times I get asked from friends and readers what sippy cups I recommend. I have literally tried them all, I kid you not. There was a time when I could not find find one that didn’t leak, stay together after being dropped/thrown, was dishwasher friendly, and was easy to wash/put back together. There has been so much talk lately about certain sippy cups (Tommee Tippee/Disney cups) that have been under fire for their cups harvesting mold in hidden areas of the cups. I will tell you that other than the Contigo sippy cup I mention below, none of these have a ‘hidden’ area where mold could hide. Contigo is like Camelbak water bottles though- they have a great reputation and no reports of mold have been found in their cups that I have read or found- still use your best judgement on these types of cups. There are only about 5 that I would truly recommend and give 5 stars. Let’s talk about those five!
Replay Recycled– My #1 pick! We are going on 18 months of LOVING these sippy cups! Heck, we love all of their products (utensils, plates, snack bowls). Talk about easy peasy to clean (3 pieces total: cup, lid, silicone suction), very sturdy, insulated, come in fun colors, they do not leak, and they can handle being thrown or dropped. They are priced wonderfully, too, at $7.99 for TWO sips cups! That’s a big win in our books. And, if you are placing an order of $25 or more on amazon, then add this pack of sippy cups to get two for just $4.89!
NUK Gerber Graduates– This would be my second pick. My daughters’ MDO program gave her this sippy cup one day after I forgot to bring one to school one day. We were big fans right away! This one is also really easy to clean, didn’t leak, and hold up well with being thrown/dropped. The only con is that is not insulated well, so this wasn’t a favorite for summer months. At $5.99 for two cups, this is a really great option!
Contigo Water Bottle– I read on a group thread about how amazing these cups were so I decided to give them a try after I had failed with many other brands and types of water bottles. Contigo puts out a great product and I really do love this water bottle. it’s great for water, day trips, summer months, and it is insulated. It’s not hard to clean, but it isn’t the easiest as it has quite a few pieces. We’ve never had a problem throwing them in the dishwasher and washing the pieces separately though. It does scratch easily, which what sippy cup isn’t going to anyway? And, it is aesthetically adorable and has never leaked! We use this for pool days, trips where we are out for a full day (it holds a lot of liquid), and when we want to give her just water. Here is blue, pink, and purple.
Munchkin Click Lock Bite Proof Sippy Cup– I have only used these a handful of times, but I was very pleased with them. The click lock feature ensures that there will be no leaks which is always a parents number one concern. I think this brand is the easiest to find in stores and online so it is purchased quite often. I also really like the no bite feature since that can put an end to your sippy cups. I noticed they still sell these online, but are discontinued by the manufacturer, so maybe they are coming out with a new model soon.
Take & Toss Sippy Cups– These are not your typical sippy cups that you will use for months on end as they are strictly ‘take and toss’ but, I wanted to include them because they are really great and super easy for quick use! Whenever we travel, I buy a pack of these and use them a couple of times each, wash them out, and after 2-3 uses I toss them. They are easy and great for trips, pool days, and they are durable. I included these because some occasions just call for these cups and our daughter really liked them.
Mama’s, what is your favorite sippy cup? Do you use one that you love that I didn’t mention above? I’d love to hear your favorites!!

We use the plain Gerber cups with the Nuk top and they are great. I like that most major retailers sell them, even our grocery store 🙂

Great timing! I was just thinking I needed to pick up some new sippy cups for our 7mo old. We love the Nuk ones, but I’m looking forward to trying out the Re-play cups. Thanks!

We like the sip snap lids that can fit on most cups. Great for restaurants. It was easy for my 6mo to transition to them since the mouthpiece is silicone. Going to try the replay cups. Thanks!
