I do not claim to be an expert in the beauty department, but I do have personal experience, and that I feel is invaluable when talking with another woman about beauty. During the summer with the heat and sun exposure I try to be extra careful and mindful of my beauty routine. I have a ton of freckles and dry to oily skin during the summer. I’ve always struggled with hormonal acne and the average oily and dry skin during certain months out of the year. I have finally found a handful of products that have really changed my the look of my skin for the better! There are are about 5-6 products that I never change just because I have tried other products and have always come back to these select products. I’ve shared my daily skin care routine below and wrote about why I love those products just below. I hope you enjoy!
Let’s Start with Beauty Care for the Skin!
The Face:
Everyday Cleanser: For every day cleansing, I cannot rave enough about the Purity Made Simple One Step Facial Cleanser by Philosophy! First, this bottle has already lasted me close to 6 months and I am only just passed the half way marker on the bottle- incredible! The minimal amount of liquid you need to wash your face is great, I love not having to squeeze so much in my hand for it to feel effective. It is very gentle and fragrance free which is a big plus! This cleanser literally takes off everything I am wearing and doesn’t leave any make up behind. I’ve been so impressed with how well it cleans your face compared to other cleansers I’ve used in the past. I feel like my break outs have been less since I’ve started using Purity as well. If I am in a hurry, then I just use the cleanser like normal and wash my face with my hands. But, my favorite way to use it is to pair it with my Clarisonic Mia 2 for a complete cleansing experience. I try to do this each night and my skin feels so firm and soft each time. Cleansing System: For an extra deep clean, I typically try to use my Clarisonic Mia 2 cleansing system every night before bedtime. This does not always happen as I am pregnant and have had a long day with a toddler, but I am always striving to do it each night. This is another product that I just cannot live without now. I lost my charging cord for almost a month and I truly felt like my skin went backwards in those weeks that I wasn’t using my clarisonic. I am hooked, and a few close friends and family members are also hooked because of my excitement for my Clarisonic! There are two speeds on the mia 2 and I typically just use the first speed for everyday cleansing and I will use the second speed if I wore a good bit of make up that day. It feels great once you are all done! * At night I finish my routine with the seabird oil which I mention below.
Day time face lotion: For every day moisturizer I use Renewed Hope In A Jar by Philosophy. This whipped moisturized is so light to apply and really rejuvenates my skin. I love that it is non greasy so it feels very natural on my face. Like the cleanser, I really like how a little bit goes a long way. I don’t need to lather a ton on my face and neck for it to feel soaked in. It also helps minimize lines and keeps your face youthful, so that is always a plus! I really just love the Philosophy skin and beauty line and trust most of their products.
Night-time moisturizer: For night-time moisturizer I use Fresh Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil. This was recommend by a close friend who swore by it. I really fell in love with the sample bottle and immediately ordered the full size. This oil does not leave an oily residue on your face and it is so light. I’ve been using this product longer than my day time face lotion and really feel like the seaberry oil has enriched the skin on my face. My skin feels nourished and clean when I apply it. Something else I noticed after a few weeks of use was that my skin was more even and I saw a difference in how my liquid foundation went on better than before. Before, I felt like where my skin was dry the foundation was not covering very well. I loved seeing this change in my skin! This oil was especially powerful for me during the winter months when I found my skin to be at it’s driest. I have oily skin, too, so this really is a great oil for any face!
Sun Care Daily Moisturizer:Â I just recently bought the Supergoop CC Cream Daily Correct Broad Spectrum spf 35 sunscreen and am really liking it so far! For a CC cream it has great coverage and stays put pretty much all day! I also am a big fan of the supergoop sunscreen already, so when I saw this I knew I would most likely love it!
And for just a few last fun favorites, I enjoy the occasional Rose Face Mask by Fresh and am obsessed with all Molton Brown products, especially this body wash and body lotion!
