I will put a more comprehensive list together of EVERYTHING I plan to bring, but I definitely wanted to share the few things I have ordered ahead of time to make sure I have in my hospital bag to make our stay feel more comfortable. After doing this four times, I know for sure what I will need and what I won’t. I also know what is already at the hospital and ready to use in case I am not as prepared as I hope to be. Thankfully, truly, the hospital has everything you could ever need to have your baby and take care of yourself and a newborn. The first time I gave birth I packed all things that were dark and very un flattering for photos. I look back and am like ‘why didn’t I put some pink, pastel, or colorful things’ in my bag. I think I was scared so much by what I read from others (8.5 years ago when really all I had were blogs alone- no LTK or IG) and only packed dark items in fear I’d ruin things. But, truly, you can have a few nicer things packed to help you feel more at home and like yourself after giving birth. I was really thankful for my 2nd and 3rd deliveries that I had packed my nicer robe, pretty pjs, and even my favorite blanket. Some of my favorite photos I’ve ever taken are the photos from the hospital. Nothing compares to those first few hours and days together and you will want to capture it all. Those moments just the 2 and 3 of you before you go home are so special. I am glad I took the photos and had some of my favorites things from home to make those days more comfortable.
