Scarlett’s Donut and Unicorn 5th Birthday Party
April 24, 2018I am so excited to share Scarlett’s Donut Unicorn birthday party on the blog today! Ever since last summer, Scarlett has been telling me how she wants a Donut party. So, I knew for awhile that would be her theme. A few months ago I asked her what kind of party she wanted and she confirmed again, a Donut party, but… she also wanted some Unicorns too! I thought we could drop one or the other, but girlfriend insisted. We made a deal that we would eat donuts and the party decor would be Unicorns. That made it a little easier to plan! I let Scarlett take the reigns on the party planning. She told me who she wanted to invite (only her friends from school) and who she did not want to invite (No Boys were allowed Haha!) I’ve learned how important it is to let her make the decisions that directly impact her and her happiness. Y’all remember the hair cut situation? It seems like the more I let her make decisions for herself, the happier she is. I wish I could bottle up her smiles, laughter, and cheerfulness she had at her birthday party. It was so incredible watching her enjoy her party that she helped plan! Enjoy the details below and let me know if you have any questions at all! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
Invitation + DressĀ
Over The Moon Gift knocked it out of the park with this invite! She blew me away with the custom portrait of Scarlett with her Unicorn! I may have gotten teary eyed when she sent the first draft over! Last year I found this Benoit and Matisse donut dress on sale and scooped it up quickly because I knew in the back of my mind we were going to need it this year for her birthday party š It was SO precious and was perfect to compliment the theme! Stuffed unicorn was found at Home Goods. Similar here and here. Wrapping paper is Meri Meri. Sandals are Sun Sans. Bows are Hello Hadley Girl.
The Tablescape Details
Pink Floral Plates are Kate Aspen, Pink Chargers were found at Home Goods, Unicorn Trinket dish are Kate Aspen, Tassels + Balloons are etsy. Paper Cups + Straws are etsy as well. Unicorn Bracelets are custom from Holland and Birch! Unicorn Party Kit (unicorn masks, wands, etc) are Kate Aspen. Pink Wooden Utensils are Meri Meri. Linens were provided and sewn by Lovie (Scarlett’s grandmother)! Kids chairs were rented from Event Rentals Unlimited in Homewood. Unicorn Ballon is etsy.
Birthday Table Set UpĀ
All design planning was curatedĀ by Party Pick Up! Stacy (Party Pick Up) also created that gorgeous Balloon Garland for her table! Scarlett’s cake was a simple yellow cake with white icing from The Western in Mountain Brook. It was perfect for adding a few donuts to! I honestly threw the topper together last minute and Scarlett helped with the donut placement š Donuts were from Shipley! Tall pink candles are amazon. Cake stands are all mine that I’ve collected over the years.Ā Tassels + Balloons are etsy. Linens by Lovie (my mom).
Unicorn Tail Candy Necklace Making Station
This was one of my favorite ideas that Party Pick Up had for her special day! A Unicorn Tail Necklace making station! Gummies, Cheerios, and a little string was the perfect activity to keep the girls excited and into the party festivities. Stacy had so many great ideas for activities! I would have never come up with this on my own!
The Unicorn Pony
Even though she knew the Unicorn was “pretend” she still enjoyed Peanut coming to her party! The girls loved riding her around our street! She was the perfect magical touch to her party! We used Hubbard Pony Rides for the magical pony guest š They were so wonderful and even dressed Peanut up for her grand entrance!
Mimosa Bar + Watermelon Mint Diffused Water Station
Since this was a morning party I wanted to have a little special drink for the parents who brought their children. I had a mimosa bar with a diffused water station! It was a big hit! Acrylic drink dispenser was found at Home Goods, but this one is similar.
Favor Bags
For the favors we used pink gift bags to keep everything in. The adorable unicorn trinket dishes from Kate Aspen went in there with some crinkle paper + Pinkalicious Unicorn Book + Custom Unicorn Charm Bracelets from Holland and Birch + Bubbles. I used the png fileĀ Over The Moon GiftĀ created for Scarlett’s invite to create a gift tag for the favor bags. All party favors sourced by Party Pick Up.
