While I was pregnant with Sullivan, I had heard about Owlet and was immediately drawn to their innovative idea. I am a worrier by nature and often wake up in the middle of the night just to place my hand on his chest to make sure he is still breathing properly. SIDS is this gray area that no parent or doctor quite can figure out just yet. While there have been studies on things to do to prevent it, it still happens too often these days. When we moved our daughter into her room for the first time, I think I stared at the screen the entire night. Having a tiny baby is wonderful and scary at the same time. A few weeks back, our baby had RSV/Bronchiolitis and it gave me so much anxiety when he was sleeping since he was not breathing well to begin with. Owlet helped me rest assured that I would get an alert if anything became abnormal. In that week when he was so sick, I had two other friends who’s babies stopped breathing due to RSV and they had to seek medical attention immediately. Those stories really scared me, and I cannot thank Owlet enough for being my set of ears and eyes when I cannot be.
