Christmas each year keeps getting more and more fun with our growing little family. This year our daughter is a little over 2.5 and is really understanding the whole concept of Christmas, so it has been really fun! Having Sullivan here with us this Christmas really instills the true meaning of Christmas and reminds us to focus on what is most important, the birth of Jesus. We have been trying to do all of the fun activities to celebrate Christmas and are coming up with our own family traditions. This year I thought it would really fun to decorate sugar cookies. I do not do much baking so thankfully Betty Crocker has a delicious package already mixed up and all I needed was butter and an egg! This was so good for me since I have never made sugar cookies from scratch before. You know the ones you buy at the store that are pre cut and you just throw in the oven? Yep, that’s the only way I’ve made them before. I was really excited to actually decorate our own cookies this time and Scareltt was really into the whole thing which made it super fun! I am super thankful that Betty Crocker creates such delicious desserts that are easy and quick to prepare!
We had so much fun cutting out the cookies and then decorating them once they baked. I realized that I am not a cookie artist and now have a newfound appreciation for bakers who specialize in decorating cookies! That kind of decorating takes a lot of talent. We just wanted to make the most of it and enjoy our time together. It was fun having Scarlett help me cut out the cookies, she was so into that part! Funny, because when it came time to decorate the cookies she was more interested in jumping into eating them, ha! I don’t blame her, they tasted really good! All thanks to Betty Crocker cookie mix and icing 🙂Â

Christmas baking means lots of memories for us as many things I now make with my kids are recipes I made with my sisters as a child.
