Potty Training Essentials

September 24, 2015

It has been about 2 months since we began potty training and it has been going very well! We started 3.5 weeks before Scarlett started her new school and she has only had one bad day which is such a win in our books. We really hope things continue to go very well, but we know that random accidents are completely normal too! We have certainly learned a lot during this process and are grateful for all the tips that friends and family shared during this process. I definitely feel inclined to share what we used and what worked for us so that I can help other mama’s who are thinking about potty training or are going through it. You can read our story on our first 3 days into potty training here and a recap of our first two weeks into it here. I touched on all the emotions we went through and shared what was working and what was not working during that time. This post is just a round up of the products and items we stocked up on during this time that we couldn’t go without. I know boys and girls potty training is different, but hopefully our list will be beneficial to you! And, happy potty training!

Potty-Training-Essentials

Baby Bjorn Potty : great potty and we loved how pee pee didn’t spray everywhere when she used the potty
Toilet Training Step Ladder : this was great for getting her to be more open to using the big potty in general.
Step Stool: This was great for incorporating hand washing.
Mini Mouse underwear for Girls and Paw Patrol for Boys
Honest Training pants for at night and during naps
Gerber padded training underwear: the padding is great for car rides and trips where there may be accidents
Kickee Pants padded training underwear: these are also padded and have a suction fit to help when accidents occur.
Tank Tops so that we didn’t have to wear an entire outfit while training
M&M’s and stickers for rewards
Bona mop: We have hardwood floors, so this was a lifesaver for easy clean up when there were accidents.
